In the 1920's, the Kirn family bought a farm in the village Kamnik pod Krimom. Ivan, the master of the house, opened a convenience store.The building was burnt down during WWII, but was promptly renovated and operated as the seat of the local agricultural cooperative until 1955.Son Janez decided to continue the family tradition and expand into the catering business. In 1957, the Kirn family opened a typical village inn.n those days, their main dish was deep-fried chicken, but locals and the numerous timber drivers also loved to tuck into hearty dishes such as tripe stew, goulash, chicken stew, polenta, various roasts or order a platter with "a little bit of everything". In the winter months, dishes made using meat from freshly slaughtered animals were particularly popular.In 1973, the inn was taken over by Janez's son of the same name. He married Majda, a girl from another family-run inn, and together they laid the foundations for an excellent inn that became popular far and wide.

Culinary Offer

During the winter months, we particularly recommend specialties made with meat from freshly slaughtered animals. In the summer months, do not miss the delectable apricot strudel or apricot dumplings, which are prepared by Mrs Majda herself.The inn is at its busiest on Sundays, as the Kirn family has a long tradition of preparing rich Sunday lunches for locals and visitors from Ljubljana.We invite you to try a number of other desserts as well, particularly the chocolate cassata, which we believe is the best in the country.
